Speaker Mike Crowe

Mike Crowe joined Desert Knowledge Australia, located in Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory, in July 2000. As Networking and Communications Manager he plays a key role in the development of business and knowledge networks for an organisation that links the people and businesses of inland Australia to world markets. His major current undertaking is the development of a cross borders business network linking up to nine Australian desert regions.

Mike has extensive senior management experience including Commercial Manager for the internationally recognised Alice Springs Desert Park, Regional Manager for the Northern Territory Department of Sport and Recreation and Regional Manager and Deputy Director for the Northern Territory Open College which provided training to people in remote Northern Territory communities. He also spent time in Alaska as a trekking leader for Raleigh International and in Darwin, Northern Territory, as the executive officer of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Youth Program. Mike has a Masters of International Management from Charles Darwin University as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics and Physics) and Diploma of Education from Macquarie University.
