Speaker Thor Hinckley

Thor Hinckley has led PGE's renewable power program since October 2000. this includes PGE's Clean Wind, Green Source and Healthy Habitat renewable power products. Thor was responsible for the development of PGE's Commercial and Industrial Green Power program in 2003, and the development of PGE's new Stable Rate renewable power product, launched in January 2007. His responsibilities include marketing of Green Energy to all PGE customers. As of September 2007 these programs have approximately 58,000 residential and over 600 business customers and PGE is ranked #1 in the U.S. for sales of renewable power to residential customers and #2 in the U.S. for total sales (by KWh) by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Labs.

Thor also directs the installation of PGE solar power projects, including the Solar Pioneer project on Oregon's State Capitol in Salem in 2001, on the Zonger Farms farmhouse in 204, the Hillsboro Civic Center in 2005, the Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center Commissary and PGE's Solar for Schools projects.

Thor formerly served as an assistant to the Portland City Commission as liaison to the Bureau of Environmental Services and the Portland Sustainable Development Commission (SDC). As an environmental engineer Thor was the Resource Director at Environmental Management Solutions, a Portland environmental engineering and consulting firm, form 1989 to 1998. Thor serves on the board of the Oregon Natural Step Network and as board chair of the Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center. Thor is PGE's representative to Oregon Energy Trust's Renewable Advisory Committee. In 2001, Thor helped found and launch Oregon Interfaith Power and Light, a group that promotes energy efficiency and renewable power to the Portland faith community.

Thor received his undergraduate degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, and is currently an MBA candidate at Marylhurst University in Lake Owsego, Oregon.
