Melissa Harris Thirsk joined Waggener Edstrom Worldwide in 1998. She is currently responsible for leading key innovation initiatives that further advance and differentiate the agency. This includes the development and infusion of Intellectual Property (IP) together with people inside and outside the organization.
Melissa formerly led the Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) global PR account team at Waggener Edstrom, where she managed communications for Microsoft's foray into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) space via acquisitions of Great Plains, Navision and FRx Software. In addition to having deep ERP and CRM expertise and understanding of the small- and mid-size business markets, Melissa is well-skilled in mergers and acquisitions, crisis and competitive communications, product launches, events management and, strategic planning and storytelling.
Before joining Waggener Edstrom, Melissa worked for Oregon-based marketing firms, the Ralston Group and Creative Company Inc. Melissa has a bachelor's degree in communications from Washington State University.
