Josu Ocariz of Spain, is currently leading the Innovation and Business Transformation Department of SPRI, an effort to increase innovation at Basque companies through the promotion of an innovative culture at the management level. Since 1998, Ocariz has been working in the public sector in the field of innovation, organizational improvement and change. He has participated in the regional government of Biscay and in SPRI.
From 2003 to 2005 Ocariz was Director of CIFAL BILBAO CENTRE, an international center created by the Basque government and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to train local authorities on the information society. Ocariz was a Professor at the Know How Business College (affiliated with the University of Wales) and at the Aplica Economics School.
Ocariz has a BA in Economics and an MBA in Marketing and International Business Management from the University of the Basque Country.
